Ingrid — Director Workspace
Capture. Review. Sync. From set to production.
Ingrid is the smartphone-first creative workspace for directors — a capture, review, and sync tool that lives in your pocket and connects straight to your production. Built for directors who think visually, move fast on set, and need a private creative record that flows to the producer without friction.
What Ingrid does
Pro Camera Capture
A purpose-built capture interface with the metadata a director actually needs — scene, shot, take, lens focal length (8mm to 400mm in granular steps), shot type, camera movement, day/night classification. AE/AF lock as the industry-standard focus marker, with a three-stage reticle: green (auto), orange (active), red (locked). Capture photos, video clips, voice notes, and text annotations — all anchored to the right scene and shot.
Storyboards & Shot Boards
Build, capture, and refine shot boards on set. Frame reference images, generated frames, or live captures into ordered sequences with shot type, camera movement, lens, and duration per frame. Drag to reorder. The board you build on set is the board your producer sees in Clarice — no export step, no version drift.
Capture Library
Every moment you capture is organized by scene, shot, and take — searchable, filterable, taggable. Triage with director tags: good, alt, need. Trim video clips to the usable range and anchor timestamped notes to specific frames ("push in here," "eye-line off on this take"). Your creative library persists across projects and survives across sessions — independent of any producer handshake.
Review & Trim
Don't send the whole clip. Trim to the frame range that matters, mark the good take, flag the alt, note what needs a pickup. The producer's approval queue receives exactly what you want them to see — not 40 minutes of B-roll.
Sync to Clarice
Two sync modes, no friction:
Live Sync — real-time push of captures straight into the producer's project. They see your frames and notes as you shoot.
Director's Review — an end-of-day package of your triaged, trimmed, tagged captures. It lands in the producer's Sync Approval Queue for sign-off before it enters the project record.
A persistent HUD icon shows your connection status to Clarice at all times — so you always know if your work is flowing to the production.
Handshake Connection
Producers issue a QR handshake from their Clarice project. Scan it once and your Ingrid project links to the production — captures route to the right project, the right producer, the right approval queue. Revoked or expired? Your captures are still yours — they live in your library keyed to your email, safe across projects and tunnels.
Voice & Notes
Capture voice memos (auto-transcribed) and text notes anchored to scenes, shots, or timestamps. "Scene 12, take 3 — the push-in was late, try again." Your creative notes become structured production notes, not scribbles on a call sheet.
The value, in plain terms
Your creative record, private and persistent. Captures live in your library by your email — they survive project wraps, handshake revocations, and producer turnover.
Zero friction to production. Scan a QR, capture, sync. The producer sees your work without you leaving set or touching email.
You control what gets sent. Trim, tag, and triage before anything reaches the approval queue — no more dumping raw footage on an editor.
Smartphone-first, pro-grade. No second camera, no laptop, no DIT intermediary between you and your creative record. The tool is already in your hand.
Included with Clarice Studio
Clarice Studio subscribers get Ingrid Pro included at no extra cost — unlimited standalone projects, full camera and HUD, no watermark, storyboard sync, and both Live Sync and Director's Review modes to Clarice. Studio is the only Clarice tier that bundles Ingrid; on Freelancer and Production Company, Ingrid Pro is a standalone subscription ($9/mo, or $79/yr via the App Store and online).
For a Studio operation, that means every director you hire can capture, review, and sync to your productions out of the box — one less app to procure, one fewer disconnect between set and the production office. It's part of why Studio is the tier built for companies that can't afford a gap between the director's vision and the producer's record.
